Drunk Driver Crashes Into FDNY Truck, 3 Firefighters Injured

QUEENS, NY — An alleged drunk driver crashed head-on into an FDNY truck in Queens on Sunday.

The incident happened at the corner of 115th St. and Jamica Ave. just after 6 a.m., police said.

Jimmy Lealecheverria, 41, is accused of crashing a van into a truck from Ladder 143, according to a New York Daily News report.

Lealecheverria has been charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Three firefighters were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, the FDNY said.
