Elmhurst Man Who Kept Three Women Captive In His Car Indicted: DA

Andres Portilla was charged with kidnapping and sexual assault after he held three women, two of whom were minors, captive, Katz said.

QUEENS — A man from Elmhurst was indicted Friday after he kept three women captive in his car last year, Queens District Attorney, Melinda Katz, said.

Andres Portilla, 28, was charged with kidnapping and sexual assault after he held three women, two of whom were minors, confined in his car parked at his home on 85th Street in September, prosecutors said.

Portilla is scheduled to return to court on April 11, and faces consecutive 25-years-to-life in prison sentences if convicted, Katz said.

The 28-year-old first lured a minor into his car in September and sexually assaulted her, and then he held captive and assaulted a second minor while the first woman was still restrained in the car, the district attorney said.

The third woman was lured into the car after Portilla offered her to use a phone charger, holding her captive for several days in the vehicle while he sexually assaulted her and then released the woman, prosecutors said.

The woman told the police, which conducted a manhunt and vehicle chase before catching Portilla, Katz said.
