Jamaica Man Indicted After Fatally Stabbing Brother: DA

Henrry Gutierrez, 32, was indicted on murder charges after he fatally stabbed Oscar Gutierrez, 25, on July 12, prosecutors said.

QUEENS — A man from Jamaica was indicted after he fatally stabbed his brother over the summer in the residence building where they both lived, the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Thursday.

Henrry Gutierrez, 32, was indicted on murder charges after he fatally stabbed Oscar Gutierrez, 25, on July 12 about 6 p.m. in a residential building in Jamaica, prosecutors said.

Gutierrez faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted, Katz said.

In July, the brothers were fighting with each other on the second floor of the building before Gutierrez stabbed him several times in the neck, torso, and arm, the district attorney said.

Gutierrez fled the scene and his brother was taken to the hospital, where he died, prosecutors said.

The 32-year-old is scheduled to come back to court on Jan. 24, 2023, Katz said.
