Lethal Butt Injection Case Lands Queens Woman In Court, DA Says

Donna Francis faces homicide charges stemming from a butt enhancement involving a basement, massage table and silicone bought on Ebay.

QUEENS, NEW YORK — A Queens woman has been summoned home to face charges that her silicone butt injections killed a Maryland woman, the Queens District Attorney's office announced Friday.

Donna Francis, 38, has been extradited from London to face homicide charges stemming from a May 2015 butt enhancement procedure that involved a Far Rockaway basement, a massage table and silicone gel she bought on EBay, prosecutors said.

Francis, who is not a doctor, demanded a $1,600 cash payment from the 34-year-old woman, who drove up from Suitland with her mom for the May 30 operation, said prosecutors.

The woman went into cardiac arrest after Francis gave her the injection in the Dickens Street basement about 6 p.m., prosecutors said.

Her mom called 911 and emergency responders, who found the woman lying at the bottom of the stairs, rushed her to a nearby hospital where she later died, said prosecutors.

The cause of death, according to medical examiners, was systemic silicone emboli, which occurs when free silicone enters the bloodstream and causes a blockage.

Francis, of Rosedale, escaped the country the day after her client died and has remained in London until her extradition earlier this week, according to prosecutors.

She was arraigned Friday in Queens Supreme Court on charges of criminally negligent homicide and unauthorized practice of a profession then ordered held without bail, said prosecutors.

Francis is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 27 and could face one year in prison if convicted, said prosecutors.
