LI Man Indicted After Carrying Two Kilos Of Fentanyl In Queens: DA
DEA agents found over 20,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills, prosecutors said.
QUEENS — A man from Long Island was indicted after agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration in Hollis found two kilograms of fentanyl in his car, the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Monday.
Dennis Carrol, 31, from Flanders was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after the agents conducted a car stop at 188th Street on Nov. 28 and found over $80,000 worth of fentanyl on Carrol’s car, prosecutors said.
Carrol faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted, Katz said.

The agents stopped Carrol's car about 3:30 p.m., searched the vehicle and found two plastic bags containing over 20,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills, the district attorney said.
Carrol is scheduled to come back to court on Jan. 10, 2023.

Katz said there have been 315 suspected fatal overdose cases across Queens so far in 2022, a 50 percent increase from last year.
