Queens Educator Charged With Rape Of Underage Girl: Cops, Report

QUEENS, NY — A Queens public school educator stands accused of raping an underage student when she was just 14, according to police and a report.

Paraprofessional Jamall Russell, 29, was arrested about 11 p.m. Monday night in western Queens's 104 Precinct, police announced Tuesday morning.

Russell is a paraprofessional assigned to P. S. 97 The Forest Park School at 85-52 85th St. in Woodhaven, according to the school website.

The girl was 14 and attending another school, according to the New York Daily News. She is now reportedly 15.

The girl’s mom reported the encounters to law enforcement, according to a Gothamist report.

Russell was arrested on charges of rape, criminal sex act, and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 and sexual abuse, police said.

Pix11 reports Russell turned himself in to police.
