QUEENS — A 36-year-old man from Queens that forced several girls into selling their bodies for his clients in 2020 was sentenced to 18 years in prison, prosecutors said.
Curtis Hamlet, from Jamaica, was sentenced to prison after forcing three 17-year-old girls into prostitution and exploiting eight other women between New York and Miami in the first three months of 2020, said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg.
Hamlet recruited a 17-year-old girl for prostitution using social media in January 2020, housing her in Manhattan while he sold her body to various clients through March 2020, Bragg said.

The 36-year-old recruited another minor from California in June 2020, paid for her travel to Miami, and then involved her in his prostitution scheme in Manhattan until September 2020, the district attorney said.
During this time, Hamlet physically beat and abused other women, including having thrown one woman down a flight of stairs, Bragg said.
