Suspect Sought After Fatally Shooting Woman, Chased Her Into NYC Apartment: NYPD

Police are trying to determine if the suspect and victim knew each other. No arrests have been made yet.

QUEENS, NY — Police have released surveillance images of a suspect accused of chasing a 21-year-old woman into her apartment and shot her in the back of the head in Queens last week.

Officers found Dashanna Donovan unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head inside 26-30 96th St. in East Elmhurst on Sept. 12.

Surveillance video obtained by police shows the alleged gunman chasing Donovan into her building with a gun.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers, and carrying a black book bag.

A motive into the shooting is not known at this time.
