2 Riverhead Services Set To Honor Those Lost On 9/11
With Wednesday marking 23 years since 9/11, two memorial services will be held in Riverhead to honor the lost.

RIVERHEAD, NY —It has been 23 years since 9/11, more than two decades since the world was forever changed by the terror attacks on the World Trade Center.
To mark the solemn day, two 9/11 memorial services will be held in Riverhead.
Riverhead Town Supervisor Tim Hubbard said a prayer service will take place at the Riverhead World Trade Center Memorial Park, located at the corner of Riley and Edwards Avenues in Calverton, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11.

Next, the Sound Park Heights Civic Association will host its annual candlelight walk and remembrance service that same evening, on Wednesday, September 11th at the 9/11 Memorial Park on Sound Avenue and Lt. Thomas Kelly Memorial Road (Park Road).
There will be a procession from Marine Street in Reeves Park to the memorial park beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a ceremony at the four-acre park dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives during the attacks.

"All are invited to attend either or both events, in remembrance of those who perished on one of America’s saddest days," town officials said.
