  2. Early photographs found in Peconic auctioned. The Henry Fitz Jr. Archive of Photographic History was formed between 1840 and 1842, with portraits of Fitz and his family that are some of the earliest known portraits taken in America. The lot had an estimated sales price of $150,000 to $300,000 and sold for the high estimate. (East Hampton Star)
  3. Joann Waski appointed to the town Planning Board. Joann Waski of Jamesport was appointed as both a member and acting chairperson of the town Planning Board. She will replace Planning Board member and current chairman, Stan Carey, who is retiring effective Nov. 18. (Riverhead News Review)
