Man Arrested After Memorial Day Burglary At Wading River Deli: PD
He was arrested this week and charged after the burglary in May, during which a cash register was stolen, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A man has been arrested in relation to a Memorial Day burglary at a Wading River deli, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, on May 27 at 11:35 p.m., the owner of Nik's Nook Deli on Hulse Landing Road contacted the Riverhead Police Department to report a burglary.
Officers responded and discovered that someone had broken the front door window and entered the building, removed a cash register with about $100 inside — and then left in an unknown direction, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective squad was notified and responded for further investigation.
Wayne Scott Conklin, 53, of Middle Island, was arrested on September 5, processed at the Riverhead Police Department, and held for arraignment in Riverhead Town Justice Court, police said.
