Man Drove While Intoxicated With Boys, 4 & 11, In Car: Police
He's facing a felony charge under Leandra's Law, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested Sunday night after he drove while intoxicated with two boys, 4 and 11, in the vehicle, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, Aquilino Gonzalez Salinas, 40, who was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. on Doris Avenue after a routine traffic stop. He was found to be intoxicated with the two children in the vehicle, police said.
Gonzalez Salinas was subsequently arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in violation of Leandra's Law, a felony; two counts of endangering the welfare of a child; driving with a revoked license; and other vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.

He was taken to Riverhead police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
