1. Riverhead community blood drive takes place Dec. 7. Start a new holiday tradition and give the gift of life by donating blood on Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Riverhead Fire Department headquarters. Appointments are preferred and can be made online via the New York Blood Center website or by calling (800) 466-0716. Walk-ins are welcome if space allows. 2. Insatiable Eats Creative Kitchen opens Monday in Riverhead. For the North Fork crowd, there’s nothing quite like Insatiable Eats Creative Kitchen, the new venture by caterer and restaurateur Chef Marco Barrila and wife Sheila, opening Monday in Riverhead.
