- Suffolk County Water Authority has agreed to meet this month and discuss working together with Riverhead Town Officials to bring clean water to residents in the Riverhead section of Manorville whose private wells are contaminated with toxins. (Subscription: Newsday)
- The U.S. Power Squadrons has scheduled a boating course on June 4, at 8:30 a.m., at Port of Egypt Marine Center in Southold. The fee for the course is $60. Call Vince Mauceri at 631-725-3679 or register by emailing vamauceri@gmail.com. (Shelter Island Reporter)
- The Waterdrinker Family Farm & Garden in Manorville is celebrating Tulip Festival with one million tulips in bloom! The team at Waterdrinker is hoping that the blossoms last until Mother's Day, but don't count on it, tulips prefer cooler weather. Waterdrinker Family Farm & Garden is located at 663 Wading River Road in Manorville. The farm and tulip fields are open daily and admission is $15 per person Monday-Friday and $20 per person on Saturdays and Sundays. Children under 2 are free. - According to Suffolk County police, Nicholas Thornton, 32, from St. James, was arrested in connection with a stabbing early Sunday morning in Port Jefferson. According to police, around 2 a.m. near Arden Place two men got into an argument that became physical. That’s when Thornton stabbed a 20-year-old victim in the arm, police said. The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released. (Patch)
