  1. Temple Israel will commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day, April 27, with a program featuring speaker Felice Katz, the daughter of Holocaust survivor. Holocaust Remembrance Day marks the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising on April 19, 1943. The event starts at the library at 5:30 p.m. (RiverheadLOCAL)
  2. To help save lives, some restaurant and bar owners are putting fentanyl testing strips in bathrooms. Fentanyl-testing strips are becoming more common in bars, restaurants and venues across the country to combat Fentanyl overdose. (Patch)
  3. In advance of the 2022-2023 budget hearing and vote, the Riverhead Central School District will host two budget presentations in the upcoming weeks to field questions from the community. (RiverheadLOCAL)
  4. A man was charged Monday with stealing a woman's bag from her car, police said.
    According to Riverhead police, at 2:48 p.m., officers were investigating a crash on Roanoke Avenue just south of Dunkin' Donuts.
    A passerby told an officer that a man had been seen looking into parked vehicles in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot, police said. Next, the investigating officer saw a man fitting the description walking with a woman's pocketbook; the officer stopped the man and interviewed him, police said. (Riverhead Patch)
