2. Long Island Game Farm Staying Open During The First Winter For First Time. This winter, Long Islanders can take a walk with wallabies or feed deer in Bambiland. The Long Island Game Farm in Manorville is open during the cold months for the first time in its 51-year history. People of all ages can visit each Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. throughout the winter, weather permitting. (Greater Long Island)
3. Beloved Annual Riverhead Bonfire, Holiday Parade Back. One of Riverhead's most beloved traditions returns this weekend as the annual Holiday Parade and Bonfire unfolds. The event takes place Saturday, with the 69th Annual Lions Club Holiday Parade kicking off at 3 p.m. on Main Street and the 21st Annual Bonfire scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on the Peconic Riverfront. Free hot cocoa and candy canes will be available, with Santa on hand for photos. (Riverhead Patch)
