Here are the top stories today in Riverhead:

1. Nicholas Lobianco, 35, was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, after a physical altercation that caused laceration and puncture wounds to James Meahan, 39. Two altercations were reported Wednesday at a facility operated by Community Housing Innovations at 624 Roanoke Ave. in Riverhead, police said. James Meahan's injuries appeared to be non-life threatening; he was kept in the hospital overnight for observation. (Patch)
2. Coolest Stories 2021: With an extremely enthusiastic response, the indoor Riverhead farmers market returned in 2021 to a new location. The East End Food Market’s Nov. 27 opening saw 1,044 customers walk through the door in the first four hours. In addition to being housed in a brand-new location on Main Road, the market also accepts SNAP benefits. (Northforker)
3. The Town of Riverhead’s inauguration ceremony will be available to be viewed virtually on Channel 22, on the town’s website, or by joining the meeting through this Zoom link. The in-person event will take place Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Town Hall meeting room. In-person attendance at the ceremony will be limited because of the surge of COVID-19 cases. (RiverheadLOCAL)
