  1. Services Set For Victims Of Riverhead House Fire. Visitation will take place Friday evening at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead and a funeral Mass will be held Saturday morning at at St. John the Evangelist Church. (Riverhead News Review)
  2. New County Legislator For Flanders-Riverside Area Under Bitterly Disputed County Redistricting Plan. Residents of Flanders, Riverside and Northampton will find themselves in a new county legislative district next year, if a redistricting plan being advanced by the legislature’s current majority caucus wins final approval. The redistricting plan would move the hamlets in the northwest corner of Southampton Town from Legislative District Two to Legislative District One. LD-02 currently encompasses the entire Town of Southampton, as well as the towns of East Hampton and Shelter Island, and a slice of eastern Brookhaven Town south of the Peconic River.   3. HIA-LI Applauds Breeze Airways' Decision To Launch Nonstop Service From L.I. Macarthur Airport. HIA-LI, one of Long Island’s largest business advocacy organizations, praised the decision by Breeze Airways to select Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip as its base of operations in New York State – and to initiate nonstop service from the airport to Charleston, SC and Norfolk, VA. The airline’s choice of Long Island MacArthur Airport follows closely on the heels of the October 2021 release of HIA-LI’s Long Island MacArthur Airport Survey which found that the addition of more nonstop flights at the airport could potentially generate more than $1 billion in new revenue for the region annually.
