- Based on previous projects and their preliminary design plan for a boutique hotel, condos and museum, the Riverhead Town Board unanimously adopted a resolution Tuesday to designate J. Petrocelli Development Associates the master developer for the Town Square project. (Riverhead News Review)
- Three people are competing for two open seats on the Riverhead school board: Laurie Downs and Matthew Wallace and newcomer Andrew Nadeau, a 2007 Riverhead graduate. Trustees on the board are elected for three-year, unpaid terms. The budget vote and trustee election will take place on May 17. (RiverheadLOCAL)
- Wednesday in Yaphank, Long Island Compost, a waste-to-gas facility, broke ground despite neighbors objecting to the plan. The facility will turn food waste into biogas and fertilizer. (Subscription: Newsday)
- According to Riverhead Town Police, on April 13, in Wading River, a rideshare driver was robbed at gunpoint and had his vehicle stolen from him by a 15-year-old male rider. The teen was taken into custody and charged with first-degree robbery; he was transported for arraignment purposes to Suffolk County Court -Youth Part, police said. (Riverhead Patch)
- On April 30, at the William Ris Gallery in Jamesport ,“Hearts & Souls: An Exhibit of Solidarity” will open to benefit Ukraine war victims. (RiverheadLOCAL)
