Riverhead Man Nabbed After BB Gun Robbery: Police
Police said the "realistic looking" BB gun was used to rob a man of his wallet and cell phone.

A Riverhead man was apprehended after he allegedly held up a man at gunpoint — using a BB gun.
According to Riverhead Town Police, Justus Davender, 20, was arrested on Tuesday at 10:26 p.m. after police responded to Wilson Avenue in Riverhead after a report of a robbery.
When police arrived, the male victim said he had just been robbed at gunpoint of his wallet and cell phone, police said.

The man provided police with a description and responding officers searched the area; a man matching the description was found on Charles Street, police said. He was found to have a “realistic-looking BB handgun”, as well as the victim’s wallet, police said.
Davender was placed under arrest and transported to the Riverhead police department, where he was charged with robbery in the second degree, a felony, police said, and held for arraignment.
