  1. LI Big Lots Robbed At Gunpoint: A man pulled a gun on a manager who was trying to block him and keep him from leaving with a full shopping cart. He then walked out of the store and into the parking lot, as did two women who also attempted to leave with a baby carriage full of merchandise; it is believed that all three got into a vehicle and left before police arrived.   2. Turkey Saved Days Before Thanksgiving By Animal Rights Activists: "Turkeys are individuals, just as much as any of us, and it is our pleasure to help kind people leave them off their plates this holiday." (Riverhead Patch)

Two Riverhead Clerks Charged In Underage Alcohol Sales Investigation: Two gas station convenience store clerks in Riverhead were arrested by state police yesterday on charges of Unlawful Dealing with a Child and Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. Riverhead Will Hold A Lottery For Deer Hunting During January Shotgun Season On Dec. 7 At 6 P.M.: The lottery is open to licensed and eligible hunters, who must have a current and valid New York State hunter’s license, a state big game tag, and must be either a Riverhead resident or real property owner.
