  1. State of Emergency declared as NY prepares for Omicron variant. "The Omicron variant has not yet been detected in New York, but 'it’s coming',” Governor Kathy Hochul said yesterday. "The vaccine remains one of our greatest weapons in fighting the pandemic, and I encourage every New Yorker to get vaccinated, and get the booster if you're fully vaccinated." (The Patch)

  3. The Cooperage Inn opens NoFo Pot Pies To-Go window. Now, after more than two decades in business, adding to that allure is the newly established NoFo Pot Pies window. NoFo Pot Pies, the brainchild of Jonathan Perkins, who owns the Cooperage Inn with his wife Rene, takes the same pot pies that customers have enjoyed for decades, and allows patrons to take them to-go.   4. Riverhead Police charge man in custody in prior grand larceny at Lowe's. Riverhead Police have filed an additional charge against the man accused of burglarizing Lowe’s Home Improvement Center on Route 58 Thursday night. Police have now charged Terry Smith, 58, of Riverhead, with one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree in connection with an incident at the same store on Nov. 10. (RiverheadLOCAL)
