10-Year-Old Struck by Car in Hit and Run

The boy was hit by a white car while crossing Main Street at N. Dutcher Street in Irvington on Friday.

The mother of a 10-year-old boy said a white car struck her son then fled while he was walking through a crosswalk in Irvington on Friday.

“Thank God my son is okay,” said the 10-year-old’s mother. “I am literally disgusted that this individual hit a 10-year-old child and kept going.”

The boy was hit by the car around 6 p.m. near the corner of N. Dutcher Street, which is right outside his home, as he was crossing Main Street causing him to roll off the hood of the car.

The car was travelling down Main Street and never stopped. The 10-year-old was taken to Phelps Hospital and was medically cleared by their staff. 

The police are currently investigating the incident. The boy's mother is hoping someone will come forward with a license plate number or better description of the car and/or driver.
