16-Year-Old Charged for Possessing Box Cutter

A Children’s Village student was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, an A misdemeanor for threatening another student with a box cutter.
According to police, school counselors had broken up a fight between the 16-year-old and an 18-year-old student on the morning of Oct. 2. The 16-year-old allegedly left the building and approached the 18-year-old on the school campus with another student.
The 16-year-old allegedly approached the victim with a box cutter, which a counselor was able to get away from the 16-year-old. The 16-year-old’s friend then allegedly handed him a tool used for adjusting chainsaws. The counselor sustained a slight laceration, while trying to get the tool out of the students' possession.

The 16-year-old was later taken into custody, charged and held until a judge saw him.
