18-Year-Old Arrested in Crash After Fleeing Police

Christopher Gaynor is charged with multiple felonies after crashing into another car in Dobbs Ferry as he tried to evade police on the Saw Mill River Parkway.

Westchester County Police arrested an 18-year-old Mohegan resident and charged him with multiple felonies for allegedly evading police during a traffic stop then crashing into another car, causing the two passengers to be inured.

Police said that Christopher Gaynor refused to pull over his 2004 Mitsubishi while speeding at 65 mph southbound on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Elmsford, weaving in and out of traffic. As he was attempting to get off at exit 17 for Ashford Avenue in Dobbs Ferry, Gaynor allegedly struck a 1998 Toyota Camry.

The two individuals who were in the Toyota Camry were taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center for their injuries.

Gaynor was charged with assault and unlawful fleeing a police officer, both second-degree felonies. He was also charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment in the second degree, and reckless driving and aggravated unlicensed operation both third degree misdemeanors, as well as a slew of vehicle and traffic summonses.

He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail until he appears in Greenburgh Town Court on Tuesday, April 2.
