Ardsley Gas Line Repairs Start Tuesday Morning
The work is expected to cause delays in the American Legion Drive/Heatherdell Road area of the village.
A gas line repair by Con Edison will likely cause traffic delays in Ardsley, beginning Tuesday, Village Manager George Calvi announced Monday evening.
"We received official word late this afternoon (4:19 p.m.) that Consolidated Edison will be ripping up the sidewalk along American Legion Drive near the intersection of Heatherdell Road first thing tomorrow morning to address a gas line leak that worsened over the weekend," he wrote in a community memo.
While Calvi said the work "will be limited to the sidewalk area," it will result in traffic along the street to be narrowed to a single lane, which must be shared by both east and westbound traffic.
"The work is anticipated to take a week," he noted. "Con Ed has assured us that they will be contact with the Police Department immediately if both lanes of travel need to be closed."
Calvi is advising locals to plan travel around the area, if possible, or plan for delays.
