Here are some things to keep in mind this week:
1. Dobbs Ferry High School's Class of 2017 will be having its freshman orientation Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Incoming students should report to the auditorium.

2. There's a high school pre-season college workshop for upcoming seniors at Hastings High School Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. The district's Board of Education also has a regular meeting on tap Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Russell Lecture Room.
3. In Irvington Tuesday, the Board of Education is meeting at 6:45 p.m. in the Campus Presentation Room. Also in the village on August 27, the Historic District Committee is meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall.

4. Dobbs Ferry's Board of Education will be touring the district's buildings on Thursday at 4 p.m. as the school year draws nearer. A regular Board meeting will follow at 7 p.m. in the middle/high school library.
5. With September just a week away, this might be the last week to enjoy summer-like weather in the Rivertowns. The weekly forecast calls for low to mid-80s highs all-week-long, with some possible rain throughout.
