Driver Faints Crashes Into Car, Home, Gas Line

A 48-year-old Valhalla resident lost consciousness behind the wheel on Sept. 20 causing her to crash into a home at 87 Landing Dr. in Dobbs Ferry.
The Valhalla resident fell ill around 5:35 p.m. and swerved off the road into the homeowner’s car and then through some bushes and into the corner of the home. The driver also hit the gas meter on the side of the home causing gas to spew out of severed pipes.

Gillian Crane, of 52 Landing Dr., said that her neighbor Eric saw the accident and sprung into action, running over to the car and helping the driver to safety and then shut off the car’s engine.

In addition to the Dobbs Ferry Police Department, the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department and Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Ambulance Corp. responded to the scene. The female driver refused medical attention. Con Edison also reported to the scene turn off the leaking pipe and repair it.
