Fuel Spill Cleaned Up in Irvington

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection was called on Jan. 28 to clean a heating oil spill in an Irvington stream.

An Irvington resident spotted sheen on the stream and an oil smell while walking on the Old Croton Aqueduct behind 41 N. Broadway and reported it around 1:11 p.m.

The NYC DEP and the Irvington Building Inspector were called to the scene. The spill was cleaned up by the NYC DEP with absorbent pads.
