Hastings Film Studio Receives $1.5M Development Grant
More than $27 million was awarded to 40 businesses in the fourth round of grants.
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — A Westchester County business is the recipient of one of 40 awards the state has given out through the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced Monday that more than $27 million has been awarded to support 40 projects across the state. This is the fourth round of approved awards.
She said the state continues to make investments lifting up communities across New York.

“These 40 shovel-ready projects are crucial to boosting economic growth and driving private investment,” Hochul said.
In Westchester County, Electric Owl Studios will receive a $1.5 million grant.

The Hastings-on-Hudson business will create a LEED gold-certified multimedia production studio that will include the film, television and gaming industries. The development will allow feature film and television series production, plus post-production, animation, gaming and industry tech development.
Electric Owl Studios will partner with local schools to establish education and training opportunities for students and residents from the community.
The total cost of the product is $111 million.
