Hastings Library Marks Centennial This Week

The Hastings Public Library is celebrating its first 100 years this week.

Several local businesses and experts have donated goods or services to a silent auction, going on through Friday, June 14.

On Saturday, an "Almost Raucous" affair will be held at a private home, where the auction winners and library supporters will celebrate with a cocktail party.

Stop by the library by Friday to browse the silent auction items, ranging from a week-long vacation in Belize to knitting lessons and merchandise like locally-made jewelry.

The "Almost Raucous" cocktail party and fundraiser is Saturday, June 15 fro 5 to 8 p.m. at the home of Judith McHale and Michael O'Halloran (255 Broadway). The evening will include an open wine bar, hors d'oeuvres from Harvest-on-Hudson and live music. Donations for the Friends of the Hastings Public Library can be mailed to 7 Maple Ave. in advance.
