Hastings Police: Bicyclist Struck; Homes Egged

Among the recent incidents investigated by the Hastings Police Department were two homes egged.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department:

Bike Snatched
A Stratford Lane resident reported on July 17 that his garage, which was left open for a few hours over the past couple of days, had been entered and a dark green Jamis hybrid bicycle was stolen. The man told police the bike is worth approximately $500. Police said they would contact the resident if the bike was recovered.

Child Biker Struck
Police received multiple reports at 3:05 p.m. on July 18 that a biker had been struck by a vehicle on Main Street.

Officers and EMS responders were dispatched to the scene, where they found a 12-year-old Hastings boy had been hit while on his bike. A caller at the scene also notified police that the driver was leaving.

Police were able to track down the driver, described as "an elderly female," who said she was unaware of the accident.

The boy was taken to Westchester Medical Center via ambulance with a right ankle injury. His mother was notified to meet him at the hospital.

The driver, a Yonkers resident, accompanied police to headquarters to complete an accident report.

Homes Egged
Police received calls from Fraiser Place and Baker Lane residents between 9:40 and 10:09 p.m. on July 20 reported their homes had been egged.

Police responded to the first home, of Fraiser Place, where they confirmed the home had been egged.

Near the scene of the Baker Lane egging, police were able to find several youths who were advised of the complaint. However, none of the youths appeared to be in possession of eggs.

Hit & Run Accident
Police reported a hit and run accident on Washington Avenue where a parked vehicle on the street had been struck by another car. Police reported damage to the driver's side of the car.

Early Morning 'Boom'
A Whitman Street resident called police at 4:07 a.m. on July 20 and stated she heard a "loud boom" that was loud enough to activate her outdoor sensor lights. She reported seeing two young teenaged boys running down the street after the noise. Police responded and found all to be in order.

All OK After 911 Call
A Broadway child called 911 at 10:15 a.m. July 20 after he said he awoke from a nap and couldn't find his parents. He later found his parents were in the other room.
