Homeless Man Threatens to Kill Friends on Facebook

This report was derived from information from the Dobbs Ferry Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 42-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident reported to Dobbs Ferry Police on Sept. 8 that a 50-year-old friend of his was making threatening comments on Facebook  

According to the Dobbs Ferry resident, the friend said “thought it might be fun to put my friends names into a hat and pick one out and kill that person,” and “thinking about killing everybody.”

Police located the man a few hours later at the Marriot in Tarrytown and took him in for questioning. Police found that the 50-year-old, who was homeless, was down on his luck and didn’t have any weapons or means to hurt anyone.

He was charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor and released.
