I-87 Crash, Road Rage, DWI Arrest With 2 Kids In The Car: NYSP

The Warwick woman driving had a BAC of 0.14 percent, and is now facing a felony charge, according to troopers.

YONKERS, NY — An accident on a Westchester highway became more serious as evidence of road rage and drunken driving with kids in the car was unfolded, according to New York State Police.

On July 10, around 5:23 p.m., troopers from Tarrytown were dispatched to I-87 in Yonkers for a report of a two-car accident and a physical altercation between both drivers.

Investigators say a Volkswagon Atlas, driven by 35-year-old Kaitlyn Slicker-Abulteen, of Warwick, was traveling south in the right lane on Interstate 87 when she was involved in a collision with another car.

Prior to the troopers' arrival, a physical fight took place, according to police.

While being interviewed, Slicker-Abulteen exhibited signs of intoxication and standardized field sobriety tests were administered, which she failed, according to state troopers.

Two children were in the vehicle with Slicker-Abulteen, police said.

She was arrested and taken to Tarrytown for processing, then transported to Hawthorne where she provided a breath sample with a BAC of 0.14 percent, according to NYSP.

Slicker-Abulteen was charged with harassment, DWI and felony aggravated DWI (Leandra's Law). She was issued tickets returnable to Yonkers City Court on July 30, and was released to a sober third party.
