Irvington Police Warn Of Possible Phone Scam

The department said the "spoofed" phone number is the same as the department's real main phone line.

IRVINGTON, NY — The Irvington Police Department is alerting the community to a possible phone scam.

Police officials said the caller claims to be from the Irvington Police Department of the Department of Homeland Security.

During the call, authorities said the scammers request personal information or money.

The “spoofed” phone number which shows up on caller ID is 914-591-8080, which is the department’s real main phone line.

Officials said the Irvington police will never ask for money or personal information over the phone.

“If you receive a similar call,” Irvington police said, “please hang up and notify us.”
