1. How did you come up with the name? Meliora is Latin for “the pursuit of better.” I believe that’s a true and appropriate way of thinking about your skin. It takes time and dedication to achieve your skin goals, results don’t happen overnight. If you are patient, yet determined, only good things will come.
2. Why start a business in this town? I have been a Hastings resident all my life, and while Hastings doesn’t offer me what I’m looking for as far as location, I was very familiar with Irvington having previously worked in the village for a couple of years. My studio also offers fantastic views of the Hudson River and the Tappan Zee bridge.
3. What business are you in? Esthetics, Skin Care
4. What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? As a solo esthetician, I wear every hat you can think of when it comes to a business. It's not always very peachy, but it is a very humbling experience.
5. What’s been your proudest achievement since opening? My proudest achievement has been being able to help so many people in the over eight months my business has been open. It’s so rewarding and exciting to wake up and go to work every day. Grateful is an understatement.
6. How does your business give back to the community? My goal is to give back to my community by educating clients on THEIR skin and helping them learn more holistic or natural ways of taking care of their skin, without breaking the bank. Beauty isn’t in makeup, it’s in skin — if your skin glows, you glow. I give back to my community by increasing confidence in those who need it.
