Irvington Welcomes Mexican Bistro

A native of Puebla, Mexico, Juan Aguilar is looking to bring his hometown flavors to the Rivertowns.

Main Street in Irvington has recently welcomed 61 Bistro, where Aguilar serves as owner and chef.

Located at 61 Main St., the eatery is open for lunch and dinner.

In addition to traditional guacamole, the lunch menu includes a number of salads ($9 to $11), favorites like enchiladas, quesadillas and tacos; along with specialities like Cod al Sarten ($26), Bistek Azteca, a grilled filet mignon ($29), Callos de Hacha, sea scallops ($26) and Pato en Mole, a seared duck breast meal ($29).

The dinner menu is similar, but offers some minor changes. For example, the cod offered at lunch is switched out for halibut ($26).

Post-dinner options include coffee, cappuccino and expresso, along with desserts ranging from flan to arroz con leche and churros.
