July 4—5: What to Know in the Rivertowns

Some things to keep in mind for the long holiday weekend.

Many local entities will be taking advantage of the July 4 holiday for a long weekend this week.

In addition to local Post Offices, banks and libraries shutting down Friday and Saturday, here are a few things to keep in mind locally:

Dobbs Ferry

  • The Dobbs Ferry Public Library will be closed Thursday, July 4.
  • Thursday and Friday garbage collection will both be on Friday.
  • Village Hall will be closed on July 4.
  • Dobbs Ferry's July 4 celebrations take place at the Waterfront Park, beginning at 3 p.m. Details are here.
Hastings
  • Hastings' village offices will be closed July 4.
  • The Hastings Public Library will be closed Thursday.
  • There will not be paper/cardboard pickup on Thursday.
  • Thursday recycling will be picked up Wednesday.
Irvington
  • Irvington's July 4 festivities begin at 5 p.m. Thursday. Details here.
  • The Irvington Public Library will be closed July 4.
  • Irvington Village Hall will be closed July 4.
