Mercy College to Host Dobbs HS Graduation
Since the village's Waterfront Park will be under construction on June 22, the ceremony has been moved to the college campus.

Mercy College is again opening up its facilities to its neighbors at Dobbs Ferry High School. The college has agreed to let the high school hold its 2013 commencement ceremony at the 555 Broadway campus.
“We are pleased to announce that this year’s commencement will be held on the Mercy College athletic turf field on June 22 at 6:30 p.m., where everyone can still enjoy the magnificent view of the Hudson River while celebrating this momentous occasion with the Class of 2013,” read a letter from the school district to the community. “Additional information regarding graduation will be available at a later date.”
Dobbs Ferry High School, at 505 Broadway, usually holds graduation at Waterfront Park, however the school district was advised by Dobbs Ferry Village Manager Marcus Serrano that the location will be under construction and that the school had to find a new location.

According to Dobbs Ferry Mayor Hartley Connett’s newsletter, progress is slow but moving along on the final shoreline stabilization work on the southern portion of Waterfront Park at Willow Point, where a seawall bulkhead is being constructed. This work will ensure that the wall is strong, protecting against erosion for future generations. Connett expects upland work to begin this summer.
The 2013 commencement ceremony will take place on the college’s newly renovated athletic turf field. Mercy College—whose soccer, lacrosse, baseball, field hockey and other sports teams use the field—has pledged to work with local schools and other organizations on lending its field for upcoming sporting events. Dobbs Ferry High School’s Varsity Football Team was recently invited to used the filed on Sept. 22 during the college’s Fall Festival where they defeated Pawling High School 27-0.
