UPDATE: Outpour of Support for Martha Corey-Ochoa on Facebook/Twitter
The Dobbs Ferry and Columbia University communities are heart broken over the tragic death of the 18-year-old Columbia University freshman.

People took to Twitter this morning to express their shock and profound sadness over the death of Dobbs Ferry High School’s 2012 Valedictorian Martha Corey-Ochoa.
The 18-year-old just started as a freshman at Columbia University and apparently jumped out of a 10th floor dorm window around 11 p.m. Monday night. The Journal News reports that it is unclear if she jumped or accidently fell from John Jay Hall onto the corner of 114th and Amsterdam Avenue.

Barry Graubart This is horribly sad. My thoughts to her friends and family. Too many unknowns in this instance, but there is a huge problem with suicides at colleges. I hope the high schools are focusing on ways to counsel students to better deal with these challenges
