Parent Reports 'Inappropriate Comments' Made to 12-Year-old Girls

Police said a parent reported the girls were approached while walking on Farragut Avenue.

The Hastings Police Department was informed on the afternoon of June 15 that two 12-year-old girls were approached by a middle-aged man.

According to the mother of one of the girls, the man made "inappropriate" comments to them about their manner of dress.

The woman described the man, as well as his vehicle, to police.

Police responded at approximately 2:12 p.m. and canvassed the area, but were unable to find anyone matching the description.

The woman called back at 3 p.m. and said her daughter told her the man left in the direction of Amjo's Deli. Police again checked the area with negative results.
