Police: Attempted Use of Stolen Credit Cards at A&P

Hastings Police are investigating an alleged incident where two men attempted to use stolen credit cards at the grocery store.

Two men attempted to purchase a collective $1,200 in gift cards at A&P, according to the Hastings Police Department.

Police reported that on June 4, they received a report at 9:48 a.m. from a female store employee reported the attempted crime.

According to witnesses, one man tried to purchase $800 in gift cards, while a second attempted to buy $400 in gift cards.

However, the credit cards in their possession had already been flagged as stolen by their owners and both transactions were denied, police reported.

The suspects reportedly left the area on foot. Police were not able to find anyone match the descriptions.

Police plan to use surveillance footage from the store to continue the investigation.
