Raccoon Crashes Through Skylight, Petit Larceny, More

- Residents of an Olinda Avenue home were startled by the sound of a raccoon crashing through their skylight at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday. The homeowners detained the animal in a room with the doors closed until police arrived.
- A Yonkers resident came back to Villard Avenue, where her car was parked, to find the driver's side mirror smashed and hanging off by a few wires. The woman said her 1998 Honda Civic was parked near Warburton Avenue between 8:40 a.m. and 5:30 p.m on Aug. 23.
- A resident of 45 Main St. reported on Aug. 24 around 12:30 p.m. that his Blue Mongoose Villain EMX bicycle had been stolen from the building's garage, which is usually locked. He last saw his bike, which was not locked, the previous evening.
- An employee of Harvest on Hudson reported that her prescription medication and tips were stolen out of her purse at work on Aug. 23. The employee said her purse was in the first floor coatroom between 4 p.m. an 12 a.m. and that $150-$200 in cash and a prescription for amphetamine salt was stolen.
- A 13-year-old Hastings-on-Hudson resident said her iPhone was stolen while she was helping out with a school event at Farragut Middle School on Aug. 25. The cell phone was valued at $600.
