The Irvington Volunteer Fire Department and Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corp. (IVAC) rushed to The John Cardinal O’Connor School on March 27 after those at the school reported a strong smell and complained of being light headed and dizzy.

The school was evacuated after 10 a.m. Firefighters determined that there was no carbon monoxide present in the school, and that the odor was the result of a boiler malfunction.
