See Police Bust This 'Porch Pirate' Suspect Clad In A Santa Hat

This crew of accused holiday bandits learned the hard way that, unlike in Whoville, the Yonkers Police Department never sleeps.

Three "Grinches" with hearts three sizes too small were loaded into the cruiser, and presents were returned to the children, bless them all.

YONKERS, NY — Yonkers police are sending a message to would-be parcel thieves across the land: they know if you've been bad or good, and you don't want to end up on their "naughty list."

As a case in point, Adriana Torres, Manuel Ortiz, and Vladymir Campos learned the hard way that YPD does not tolerate package theft. The three were each charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar's tools following their arrest on Bronx River Road this past Saturday afternoon.

"Let this serve as a reminder that our uniform and plain clothes officers are out in force this holiday season," Yonkers police said in a statement posted on social media. "It doesn’t pay to be a Grinch!"

Luckily, this Christmas cautionary tale has a happy ending.

Police say that this trio of suspected package thieves were caught red-handed (with one wearing a red Santa hat as well). From the packages seized by cops, it seems certain the holiday heist threatened to spoil Christmas for at least a few kids hoping to see items from their wishlist under the tree.
