Detectives from the Major Case Squad, the Digital Forensics Unit, and the Crime Scene Unit say they learned that the suspect, now identified as Fidencio Abreu, and Vallejo were acquaintances who had a disagreement, which ended with Abreu firing one shot at the victim before fleeing the area.

Detectives, patrol units and the Yonkers Crime Control Center tracked down the 41-year-old to an apartment near the intersection of Radford Street and Riverdale Avenue, where Abreu was taken into custody.

The Yonkers man was arraigned in Westchester County Court on one count of second-degree murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Abreu was remanded to the Westchester County Jail, where he is being held without bail. The Yonkers man is due back in court on July 17.
