YONKERS, NY — Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the beloved ice cream brand known for its "made-from-scratch" dairy and vegan ice cream, will be opening its first Westchester County scoop shop at Ridge Hill on Thursday.
The company's newest location is located in Town Square, a 25,000-square-foot community gathering space in Ridge Hill. Opening day hours on Thursday are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. In celebration of the opening, the shop will offer $1 scoops from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. and free totes to the first 100 customers, starting at 3 p.m.
Van Leeuwen began in NYC as a yellow scoop truck in 2008. The company's French-style ice cream, which is made with more than double the amount of egg yolks as standard ice cream, quickly gained loyal fans.
