2 Charged For Stealing Car At Nassau Restaurant: Police

The victim left his car running while he placed an order at a fast food restaurant in Baldwin, police said.

BALDWIN, NY — Two men were arrested for stealing a vehicle Wednesday night in Baldwin, police said.

The male victim, 60, left his 2015 Toyota RAv4 running while he entered Kentucky Fried Chicken on Grand Avenue, police said.

When he returned, the vehicle was stolen and he called 911, police said,

A short time later, Freeport police officers observed the vehicle being driven on E. Seaman Avenue near N. Columbus Avenue.

A traffic stop was initiated. The passenger exited the vehicle and fled, but was taken into custody nearby, authorities said. The driver remained at the scene and was also arrested, police said.

Joseph Felton, 32, is charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal possession of stolen Property. Patrick Knight, 34, is charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said. The men, both from Roosevelt, were scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
