Amy Schumer Visits South Side High School
The Rockville Centre native invaded a French class, chatted with her English teacher, and critiqued her old volleyball uniform.

The “teacher’s worst nightmare” of the South Side High School Class of 1999 returned to her alma mater during a recent segment with CBS Sunday Morning.
Comedian Amy Schumer, 34, a native of Rockville Centre, returned to her old high school to invade classrooms and reminisce with former teachers.
While admitting high school was better than middle school, she still couldn’t get over her volleyball uniform, which Schumer said involved “tiny, tiny shorts” that were basically a second pair of underwear.

Before departing, she was able to convince her ninth grade English teacher, Mr. Reid, to see her new movie, Trainwreck, which hits theaters July 17. Reid said he hadn’t realized what a success she had become until he saw her on a billboard at the Port Authority.
“I didn’t anticipate you quite winding up with the notoriety that you have right now,” he said, quickly adding, “I thought she would be brilliant.”
Schumer was back on Long Island in June and made one waiter’s day at Peter’s Clam Bar. After learning he was a student and funding his own education, she left him a huge tip.
