Nassau Car Crash Victim Gets Emergency Help From Officer: Police

The 20-year-old victim was struck by a Nissan Altima in Baldwin, police said.

BALDWIN, NY — A car crash victim got lifesaving help from a Nassau County police officer. The 20-year-old man was struck by a Nissan Altima at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Clyde Road in Baldwin, police said.

The victim suffered a several laceration to his right arn and heavy bleeding from the March 10 crash. The officer was unable to make a tourniquet due to the location of the laceration. Instead, a bleed stop kit was applied and the wound was packed with gauze, police said.

He was brought to a nearby hospital where he's in stable condition. The 20-year-old driver of the Altima remained at the scene, police said.
